[L's tone is somewhere between exasperated and weary.]
This is Ryuuzaki. I won't be able to make it to my shift safely. Will you be able to arrange other coverage?
[Hey, Petrelli, this is serious. He never misses a shift... but the elevators aren't working and there are things around and he may or may not be aware that Lucrezia seems a little too enthusiastic about that knife. He'll be stuck on his floor, and eventually in his room, until things settle down or his food and water stash runs out.
There isn't enough coffee there and he won't be sleeping, so he'll be emerging in a spectacular mood. But at least he'll be in one piece.]
Ha. Ahaha ha ha [ The last one a tired sigh. ] Ha.
Stopped counting when people showed up days ago. Don't care. I'll be here or something.
[ Delirious from lack of sleep, ill, and fighting off the occasional demon. Oh and the occasional imaginary demons, too. Nathan isn't all that together. ]
[ Nathan's voice doesn't raise above a monotone. He's too tired to function, and dying from exhaustion is an actual thing. He honestly continues to be surprised that anyone on the ship has the energy to so much as raise their head. ]
I don't know, I haven't had a chance to look around recently. [ That's one way to put it, anyway. ]
Sometimes you have to make sacrifices when you leverage a situation to best advantage; it's a rule L lives by. If it was necessary to allow a preventable death to happen to prevent many other deaths in the future, he would order a cup of coffee and sit on his hands. But almost no one on the Tranquility is expendable, least of all Petrelli, and even if he were, this would be a stupid way to die.]
I suppose Security has their hands full.
Is it pointless to ask you if you think there's any way you can get out of there safely?
[voice, dated to sometime mid-Ascension-plot]

[immediate voice reply!]
[He sounds thoughtful, but his voice immediately changes to something more businesslike, and a little more incredulous.]
Is anyone down there at all?
